Baam-e-Dunya Music Conference held to emphasize over the traditional music heritage of the Hindukush, Himalaya, Pamir and Karakorum region. The conference was jointly organized by KIU, ICIMOD, WWF, Federal Government, GB Government and GB Folks. Deputy Speaker GB Legislative Assembly Mr. Jafarullah Khan was the Chief Guest in the inaugural session. VC KIU Prof. Attaullah Shah welcome the delegates from different parts of the country and abroad. He highlighted the importance and significance of Cultural heritage and music of GB for a peaceful, pluralistic and sustainable society. He informed that the Centre for Gilgit Baltistan Studies and Cultural Heritage is closely working on documenting the local music, folk lore and music. The language centre of KIU will work for documenting and archiving of languages of GB. Deputy Speaker Jafarullah Khan highlighted the need for sustaining cultural heritage of GB. He informed that GB Govt is working closely with society to promote the cultural heritage of the region.
