GB Government will provide lands for the Construction of KIU Campuses with the support of community- Commissioner Gilgit Muhammad Usman.

A meeting held between KIU leadership and government officials of GB. From KIU side VC KIU was accompanied Director Hunza Campus, Dr. Manzoor Ali. From GB Government Mr. Muhammad Usman Commissioner Gilgit was accompanied with Secretary Education Mr. Najeeb Alam, DC Diamer, DC Nagar, Additional Commissioner Gilgit Mr. Wali Khan and MLA Nagar Mr. Javed Hussain.

Vice Chancellor KIU informed the participants of the meeting about the progress of KIU sub Campuses, it’s growing enrolment and assurance of quality education to people of GB. VC KIU emphasized on the need for construction of purposeful built infrastructure to facilitate communities affiliated with these campuses. Core agenda of meeting was to discuss the possible land for Hunza Campus. VC KIU told participants about untiring effort KIU has been pursuing through negotiating with the local community and GB Government for arranging suitable piece of land for all three campuses at Hunza, Chilas and Ghizer. In this regard, a piece of land has been handed over at Chilas to KIU, whereas the case for Ghizer is under process. However in Hunza some positive progress is made to finalize the land for the campus. The land of Dong-e-Daas is already identified, which has been in dispute amongst the communities of Hunza, Ganesh and Nagar. At the same the community from Naserabad and Gojal has also approached to offer land. Commissioner Gilgit and Government officials and MLA from Nagar to resolve the issue of land at Dong-e-Daas by mid of next month. A thorough negotiation shall be arranged to develop mutual consensus between communities, otherwise the case for land at Naserabad will be taken up.
