An important meeting was convened at Cm house Gilgit. Vice Chancellor KIU Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah and other senior Dean/officers attended meeting. Chief Minister GB Hafiz Hafeez ur Rehman presided over the meeting. CM assured VC and his team to financial support in the head of semester fee. CM proposed to establish Endowment fund, Scholarship fund at KIU in the best interest of KIU students. In his letter, the Vice Chancellor explained that due to 43 Million budgetary cut from HEC and loss of revenue of Rs.50 Million due to de-affiliation, KIU is facing a huge shortfall of about Rs.100 Million. KIU has already adopted austerity measures to save 35 Million but to fill the gap, the only option left was to increase the tuition fee. Vice Chancellor appreciated efforts of Chief Minister in the development of KIU and take interest to resolve the fee issue.
