“Strengthening of Quality Education at Gilgit Baltistan by Using Digital Platforms” is one of the projects of KIU led by Dr. Aftab Ahmed Khan as Principal Investigator. This project aims to design, develop, customize, and integrate smart and Intelligent Learning Management Systems in teaching and learning of some selected Schools of Gilgit-Baltistan. This project falls under Research Grants for Local Challenge Fund of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. For this project, KIU immediately needs highly motivated candidates for below mentioned project positions;
- Research Assistants/Full Stack Web Developers: Number of Positions: 2
- Full Stack Developer (01)
- To play active role in requirements analysis, requirements documentation and mapping for design and development of customized AI based LMS for selected schools.
- Masters/BS degree or equivalent in Computer Sciences/Software Engineering from a reputable institution.
- Proven experience of at least 03 years as a Full Stack Developer or similar role.
- Front-end technology:Expertise in front-end technologies, including JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5 and third-party libraries such as React Js, Angular, jQuery and LESS.
- Development languages/frameworks:Knowledge of server-side programming languages including DOT Net Core MVC, PHP Laravel, Ruby and Python
- Database:Expertise in DBMS technology, including MS SQLServer, MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Design ability:Knowledge of UI/UX and proven prototype design.
- Server: Experience working with Nginx or Apache servers with a solid background in Linux.
- Proven skills of Version Control Using GIT.
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to visualize a proposed system and be able to build it.
- Research Assistant (01)
- To play active role in academic writing, requirements documentation and mapping for design and development of customized AI based LMS for selected schools.
- MS (18 Years) or equivalent in Computer Sciences/Software Engineering/Artificial intelligence from a reputable institution.
- Proven experience of design and development of AI /Machine Learning / Deep Learning based software products.
- Must have in-depth knowledge and practical understanding of ML / DL algorithms.
- Ability to create, test and deploy machine learning models for various applications.
- Excellent academic writing skills.
- Relevant experience of creating research-oriented ML/DL based software and proof of publications in quality journals will be preferred.
- Must have in-depth knowledge of Front End design and development technologies, including JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5 and third-party libraries such as React Js, Angular, jQuery and LESS.
- Able to work with server-side programming languages including DOT Net Core MVC, PHP Laravel, Ruby and Python.
- Good understanding of Database Design.
- Student Assistants: Number of Positions: 4
- To assist the Principal Investigator in research related matters including:
- Field surveys for research.
- Data entries and compilation of data.
- Data analysis
- Report writing ·
- Any research or academic task assigned by the PI.
- To play active role in requirements analysis, requirements documentation and mapping for design and development of customized AI based LMS for selected schools.
- To work as an active team member towards completion of deadlines and other deliverables.
- To play active role in development, testing, deployment and debugging of LMS modules.
- To play active role in design and development of trainings material on installation and usage of developed LMS .
- To play active role in conducting trainings for students and relevant staff/teachers on various modules of LMS for its successful implementation.
- To provide any relevant support to developers.
- Masters/BS degree or equivalent in Computer Sciences/Software Engineering from a reputable institution.
- Good academic writing and research skills.
- Software development experience will be an added advantage.
- Applicant must be enrolled in MS (Computer sciences, Software Engineering or Information Technology) ·
- Applicant should have at least First-class BS degree in Computer Sciences (CS, SE or IT) with no third division in academic career.
- Admin Officer: Number of Positions: 1
- The research assistants provide clerical support to PI, Co PIs and other project staff.
- Will assist PI and Co PIs with the paperwork involved in research, including filing, researching, and writing reports.
- Will provide efficient administrative and logistic support to carry out research activities including travel, surveys, data entry tasks, trainings, meetings seminars and other related activities.
- To work with the Finance Department and Principal Investigator to ensure smooth executing of project activities as per approved timeline.
- Will be responsible to maintain all financial records and other related documents as required by HEC/KIU.
- Will be responsible to provide financial reports as required by KIU/HEC or other stakeholders.
- Master’s in Business Administration from a reputable institution.
- At least 2 years experience.
- Good Administrative skills.
- Good written and verbal communications skills.
- Experience of Admin and Finance development will be an added advantage.
- Confident with basic accounting and finances
- Computer proficiency in general office software (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Internet surfing is required.
- Knowledgeable in office administration
