The Department of Environmental Sciences and Integrated Mountain Areas Research Centre (IMARC) of the Karakorum International University, Gilgit in collaboration with Pakistan Water Partnership (PWP) is organizing a lecture series on “Water Management Issues and their solutions in Pakistan in the face of climate change”. The lectures will be organized by integrating with Mountain Studies class on 19 September 2011 at 03:00 PM in Musharaf Hall, KIU Main Campus Gilgit and on 21 September 2017 in KIU Sub-campus Skardu.
Sardar Muhammad Tariq, Chief Executive Officer PWP and Dr. Pervaiz Amir, Board of Directors, PWP have kindly consented to deliver the lectures.
PWP was established in February 1999 as the country chapter of Global Water Partnership (GWP). It is an important institution of the regional network of South Asia (GWP-SAS). PWP is a corporate body registered under the Pakistan Companies Act 1984, as a non-profit entity with a large number of key stakeholders from Government Organizations, Public and Private Sector, NGOs, Women and Youth Groups, and Civil Society having impact on water or being impacted by water and its uses in the country as its members/partners.
All students who are currently enrolled in Mountain Studies and students of the Faculty of Life Sciences are required to attend the lectures.
