The first two days NATIONAL GB ADBI MELA concluded on 13th September 2017 at Musharraf Hall, KIU. This first-ever national ADBI MELA was an event of GB government, executed by the Department of Tourism, Culture, and Education and hosted, facilitated, moderated and anchored by the DML, KIU.The major events of the Mela were the Book Fair by different national and local publishers and booksellers;   an all Pakistan Mushaira in Regional Languages like Shina, Wakhi, Burushaski, Khowar, Pashto, Balochi, Brahvi, Sindhi, Punjabi etc. and a grand all Pakistan Urdu Mushaira. The Urdu Mushaira was presided over by the famous national poet Mr. Anwar Shaoor. Other prominent national poets who recited their poetry on the occasion were Mr. Anwar Shaoor, Mr. Khalid Sharif, Mr. Rehman Faris, Miss. Sughra Sadaf, Mr. Dost Muhammad Mohmind, Dr. Abasin Yousaf Zai and many more.

In his concluding address, Dr. Khalil Ahmed, VC, KIU, expressed his gratitude over declaring KIU as one of the stakeholders for the event and thanked the intellectuals who joined the event from every nook and corner of Pakistan.
