Graduate attribute of students graduating from the Bachelor of Civil Engineering Technology Program at KIU will have the following abilities (according to National Technology Council’s Manual of Accreditation):

(i)         Engineering Technology Knowledge (PLO-1): An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, natural science, Civil Engineering Technology fundamentals and Civil Engineering Technology specialization to defined and applied Civil Engineering Technology procedures, processes, systems or methodologies.

(ii)        Problem Analysis (PLO-2): An ability to Identify, formulate, research literature and analyze broadly-defined Civil Engineering Technology problems reaching substantiated conclusions using analytical tools appropriate to the discipline or area of specialization.

(iii)       Design/Development of Solutions (PLO-3): An ability to design solutions for broadly- defined Civil Engineering Technology problems and contribute to the design of systems, components or processes to meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

(iv)       Investigation (PLO-4): An ability to conduct investigations of broadly-defined problems; locate, search and select relevant data from codes, data bases and literature, design and conduct experiments to provide valid conclusions.

(v)        Modern Tool Usage (PLO-5): An ability to Select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern technology and IT tools, including prediction and modelling, to broadly-defined Civil Engineering Technology problems, with an understanding of the limitations.

(vi)       The Engineering Technologist and Society (PLO-6): An ability to demonstrate understanding of the societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to Civil Engineering Technology practice and solutions to broadly defined Civil Engineering Technology problems.

(vii)      Environment and Sustainability (PLO-7): An ability to understand and evaluate the sustainability and impact of Civil Engineering Technology work in the solution of broadly defined Civil Engineering Technology problems in societal and environmental contexts.

(viii)     Ethics (PLO-8): Understand and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of Civil Engineering Technology practice.

(ix)       Individual and Team Work (PLO-9): An ability to Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams.

(x)        Communication (PLO-10): An ability to communicate effectively on broadly defined Civil Engineering Technology activities with the Civil Engineering Technologist community and with society at large, by being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

(xi)       Project Management (PLO-11): An ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Civil Engineering Technology management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member or leader in a team and to manage projects in multidisciplinary environments.

(xii)      Lifelong Learning (PLO-12): An ability to recognize the need for, and have the ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in specialist Civil Engineering Technology.
