I am a PhD in Environmental Science (Wildlife Ecology & Conservation), postdoc in natural resource management & policy and specialized in ecology and conservation. I am currently working as a faculty member and chair of the Department of Forestry, Range and Wildlife Management, Karakoram International University, Gilgit, Pakistan. I have been been associated with the University of Oregon as a Fulbright Postdoc Scholar and Courtesy Faculty. I have more than two decades of academic, research and project management experience in participatory conservation and sustainable development. I have also been associated with Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). My areas of expertise include, environmental conservation, natural resource management, protected areas management and ecosystem-based climate adaptation. I have undertaken more than 12 projects pertaining to research, development and academic collaboration. I have extensively published and authored more than 50 articles, book chapters, manuals and reports.
