Dr. Iftikhar Ali is an accomplished academic, currently serving as Chairperson in the Department of Politics and International Studies at Karakoram International University in Gilgit, Pakistan. With a wealth of professional experience, he has held leadership positions in various organizations, exemplified by his significant contribution as the former Provincial Secretary for the GB Local Council Board in the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Dr. Ali's expertise in the field of international affairs has been further developed through his fellowships at esteemed institutions. He has been a fellow at the Howard Backer Jr Center for Public Policy at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (2018), as well as the Center for Global Security and Cooperation at Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico (2019). Additionally, he is a fellow of the Nuclear Nonproliferation Education and Research Center (NEREC) at KIAST Korea (2022). In 2022, he successfully completed the Advanced Course on Nuclear 3S, a collaborative program conducted in partnership with Sandia National Laboratories, CRDF Global, and Malaysia Nuclear Agency. Dr. Ali has been a fellow for the World Nuclear University Summer Institute 2023, focusing on Nuclear Leadership Professional Development, hosted in Japan.

Dr. Ali holds a Ph.D. degree from the Department of International and Strategic Studies at the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He also obtained his M.Sc and M.Phil degrees from the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies (DSS) at Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Dr. Ali seamlessly integrates his practical expertise with academic rigor, providing students with a unique perspective that bridges theory and real-world application. His diverse professional background enriches his teaching, enabling him to offer practical insights and case studies that resonate with his students' academic and career aspirations.

Beyond his role as an educator, Dr. Ali actively engages in research, employing his deep understanding of governance and policy to explore critical issues within the realm of politics and international relations. His multidimensional experience allows him to delve into complex topics, analyzing their implications from both theoretical and practical standpoints.
