Dr. Saranjam Baig, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Karakarom International University has received the highly competitive  HEC Thematic Research Grant worth 3.3 million to conduct a research under the title ” CPEC-Tourism-Development Nexus: Using “CPEC-Tourism” as an indigenous tool for Economic Development of Gilgit-Baltistan”. Under the supervision of Dr. Saranjam Baig, a team of 4 research scholars and 3 research associates will explore the correlation between CPEC and tourism and their impact on the economic development of Gilgit-Baltistan. Data will be collected from both secondary and primary sources. Based on the empirical findings, it is expected that a new set of policy reforms for sustainable tourism due to CPEC will be recommended.
