High level delegation of Chinese Academy of Science visited KIU Liaison office and had detailed meeting with Vice Chancellor KIU Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah on prospects of collaboration

VC KIU shared a detailed presentation on Faculties, programs, departments of KIU followed by presentation on Crysophere and Climate at KIU. Dr. Muhamad Safdar DG CPEC Centre HEC also joined the team. Dr. Attaullah Shah shared that a Project Proposal for Establishment of Centre for Crysophere and Climate Studies has been submitted to HEC under CPEC Research initiatives mega project. The center is supposed to be established at KIU in collaboration with Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The academy will collaborate with KIU mainly in three areas. Assisting in establishing the Research Centre, provide instrumentation for glacial monitoring and developing capacity of KIU Faculty in the areas of Glacial and Climate Studies. Both sides also agreed to arrange international Conference and workshop jointly by CAS, ICIMOD and KIU next on Glacial Modeling, Geohazrads and Climate Impacts. The Chinese group was led by Prof. Tianhua Hong Executive Director China Pak Research Centre on Earth Sc, Prof. Sui Lijun, Dr. Fenghuan  Su, Dr. Farquei Yu and Tinhai Jiang.
