Department of Forestry, Range and Wildlife Management BS-III students visit to Mining Engineering Laboratory, KIU

The BS Sem-III students of the Department of Forestry, Range and Wildlife Management has been offered FR-402 “Geology and Soil Science” course of Cr. Hrs 3 (2-1) in the Fall 2023 session. Bearing immense field importance, cooperation of Department of Mining Engineering, KIU, was sought for the conduct of briefing and practical (related to mineral and rock specimens) for graduating students.

The students visited the Department of Mining Engineering, KIU, in September 2023 for conduct of detailed briefing on Geology topics and practical (related to mineral and rock specimens) and use of its Laboratory facility. Mr. Rahat Ali, Lecturer explained the students about Mineralogy, Petrology, Structural Geology and Physical Geology. He also elaborated various laboratory instruments, tools, and demonstrations and general examination of mineral and rock specimens. He explained in detail how minerals and rocks are identified. The Laboratory of Mining Engineering Department is a specialized facility dedicated to research, experimentation, and practical training of students.

In the end, the students offered vote of thanks to the faculty and staff of Department of Mining Engineering for arranging briefing and taking time out graciously for demonstrations and general examination and identification of mineral and rock specimens at the Laboratory.
