KIU has established itself among top 13 IT universities of the country. The MOU of established Authorized Information and Academy of Huawei has been signed as convention center Islamabad on the 10^th Anniversary of Huawei and HEC strategy partnership. 38 private and public sector universities from across the country had applied for the establishment of the academy. KIU remained one of the thirteen universities to win the award. The selection was made on the basis of assessment of the proposal. The proposal from KIU was made by a team from IT department led by Mr.Imran Faculty of Department of C.S. The proposal was declared the best and made put of Huawei properly. The MOU was signed by Executive Director of HEC Regional Director of Huawei, Apart from Mr. Ahsan Iqbal and Mr.Baleeg-ur-Rehman, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman HEC and the VCs of the 13 selected universities were also present. Dr. M. Asif Khan.VC KIU declared this a success and honor for KIU as well as for the whole of GB.The expressed happiness and pride over the success and assured to equip KIU with all necessities of IT with the help of the new and newer latest technologies of Huawei.He further added that with the establishment of the academy at the campus; revolutionary change will be brought in the field of education, teaching, and research. A technology lab will also be established under the supervision of this academy, wherein, IT experts will train the faculty and students on the latest model.
