The Higher Education Commission anticipates that Higher Education Institutions will work towards achieving excellence through continuous improvements in their quality and effectiveness. The Higher Education Commission has taken a significant initiative of performance-based Institutional recognition and started up with the primary step of outlining the Performance Evaluation Standards for the HEIs to be used for the purpose. A total of eleven standards are defined in this document and each one of these articulates a specific dimension of the institutional quality. Thus, all the eleven standards are equally important to be met by the HEIs to achieve the recognition status as a certification to the quality provision in higher education.

To meet the standards of IPE KIU, QEC prepared the University Portfolio Report (UPR) on the basis of 11 standards. The following committee has been notified for conduction of Self Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE)as per Revised QEC Assessment Criteria from May 14 – May 18, 2018.

The committee thoroughly discussed the information given in UPR about the University mostly based on answers to questions that have been provided at the end of each standard and checked the supporting documents.

The external experts soon share their recommendations and finding with KIU QEC for implementation and compliance.

The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) of HEC is striving hard to bring external as well as internal quality in the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of Pakistan through different components establishment of Quality Enhancement Cells in universities, Accreditation Councils in new disciplines, evaluating the Institutional Performance against defined standards, and review of MS/M.Phil. and Ph.D. level qualifications by an expert committee’s.

Under the external quality assurance, the QAA-HEC took the initiative of starting MS/MPhil & Equivalent Degree Program Review Process to assure the compliance of HEC’s minimum criteria for MS/M.Phil. & Ph.D. level programs by all HEIs for enhancing the quality to make them internationally compatible. For this purpose, QAA-HEC planned and administered the MS/MPhil. Program Review Visits of all HEIs by an experts committees as per the defined Review Process.

In this connection, QEC KIU has been conducted a Self-Review of KIU MS and Ph.D. Programs from May 03, 2018 to May 5, 2018. The following committee has been notified for Self Review of KIU MS and Ph.D. Programs.
