The Center for Faculty Development conducted a five day workshop

The Center for Faculty Development conducted a five days workshop for two cohorts of KIU (Gilgit and Hunza campus) faculty from June 5-9 2017 on “Microteaching”.  A total of twenty-five faculty representing 15 departments were the beneficiaries of the said event. Besides micro teaching, participants were provided with an in-depth knowledge on “Leadership in Education” and “Reading related challenges”   through interactive approaches.  Mr. Shah Zaman, Department of Behavioral Sciences and Dr. Asif Khan, Department of Educational Development, conducted the sessions. While wrapping up the training session, Dr. Muhammad Asif Khan, Vice Chancellor, Karakoram International University, informed the participants that faculty development is an emerging theme in terms of bringing improvement in the overall quality of education at the tertiary level. He added that the emphasis of these workshops should be on developing skills that could help the students in their practical lives.
