Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah Vice Chancellor KIU called upon H. E Yao Jing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China at Chinese Embassy, Islamabad. Dr. Saranjam Baig Director CPEC Center, KIU was accompanied with Vice Chancellor. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah briefed the Ambassador about the completed and ongoing activities at the CPEC Center KIU. He also highlighted the strategic importance of KIU in the context of CPEC being the hub of research and education. The meeting stressed the need for building a long-term partnership between the CPEC Center, KIU and Chinese Embassy and counterparts. Possibilities regarding exchange programs, research grants, and partnerships with Chinese universities remained the major points of discussion. Vice Chancellor also shared his plans to upgrade CPEC Center into a Center of Excellence. Professor Dr. Attaullah Shah invited the ambassador to visit KIU according to his convenience, which he accepted.

His Excellency Ambassador Yao Jing shed light on how they are incorporating the social sector and less developed regions into the CPEC in line with the vision of the new government. He assured that CPEC Center, KIU will be provided with all possible assistance. The Vice-Chancellor conveyed his gratitude and thanks to the Embassy for the generosity in establishing a CPEC Research Lab at CPEC Center KIU.
