Dr. Bakhtiar Khan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Technology, Karakoram International University, Gilgit-Baltistan. He obtained his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Engineering & Technology Peshawar in 2007. He received his MS and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) in 2018 and 2023, respectively. As a senior Electrical Engineer (2008─2014), he completed various projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) with Zahran-Group of companies. He remained Technical Operations Manager of the STC project in Seder-Group of companies, KSA (2015─2016). He was research associate (2018─2022) with the EMDR lab, Department of Electrical Engineering, COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus. His research interest includes electric machine design, high voltage engineering and power electronics converters. Dr. Khan has made over 28 scholarly contributions, including 14 peer-reviewed research papers (h-index = 7; i10-index = 5). He has professional affiliation with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE). Dr. Khan is a member of IEEE and IEEE IES Electrical Machines Technical Committee. He is peer reviewer with IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification, Applied Sciences, Energies, Machines, Material and Sustainability Journals.
